About Milan Dobeš Museum

The Milan Dobeš Museum which can be found on the ground floor of the Gong Auditorium, is divided into seven segments and serves as a great example of the magnificent work of the internationally acclaimed architect Josef Pleskot who has played a significant role in the way the whole premises of Dolní Vitkovice look nowadays.

The key mission of the museum is to look after the collection of artworks by Milan Dobeš, who is one of Europe’s leading op-art and dynamic constructivism artists. Apart from his artworks, the museum holds temporary exhibitions to showcase the works of modern day artists like Krištof Kintera, Andrzej Nowacki or Anna Osiecka. The museum tries to make the contemporary art approachable and accessible to both Czech and foreign visitors.

The museum is supported by the MDM endowment fund which was established in September 2017 by Jan Světlík and Milan Dobeš with the help of Svetlik Art Foundation. For more information, visit their website.
